The stroke of one brings nightmares to fill your tearstained eyes,
Your calls for help grow fainter, swallowed by the charcoal sky,
Some think you are a weakling, but something seems amiss,
I know you're strong, I may be wrong,
'Cause ignorance is bliss.
You know about fine poetry, you've seen wondrous works of art,
But all this thought and knowledge have worn away your heart,
You know so much but ask yourself, and think a while on this,
If thoughts make dread fill up your head,
Then ignorance is bliss.
Maybe knowledge makes you happy, but is it really worth the while,
Many hours spent on research, now I don't think that's your style,
Have you ever seen a concert, have you ever had a kiss,
You've spent your years locked up in fear,
Not knowing ignorance is bliss.
If you truly want to be happy, then pack your bags and go,
Just run away and don't look back and watch your spirit grow,
So let your thoughts drain out your head, there's not a one you'll miss,
But you should know just one thing though,
That ignorance is bliss.
